Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Making a difference in someone’s life and community. Become a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Care Plus Residential Services, an organization that provides advocacy, growth, collaboration, and compassion to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
Responsibilities
- Follows the plan of care to provide safe, competent care/service to the client
- Offers support to the individuals with their activities of daily living (ADL)
- Observes and reports any change in the client’s mental or physical condition or in the home situation
- Provides clients’ transportation to and from activities
- Assists in the implementation of individual support plans and behavioral plan goals
- Abides to ethics of individual confidentiality
- Responsible for medication administration and adhere to the policies and procedures regarding medication administration
- Must complete required documentation to reflect client’s outcomes accurately and in a timely fashion
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities; preferred 1-3 years.
- Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license & an insured and a registered vehicle.
- Ability to pass and maintain required trainings: DSP, CPR (every 2 years), CPI (every year), CRMA (every 2 years)
